This board is integral to the Innovation Series Medium Voltage - GP, Type H drives. It connects the Medium Voltage AC Drive Fiber-Optic Hub Board (FOHB) and the Bridge Interface Board through a 15 V to 5 V digital bus interface. The BPIR board is responsible for receiving bridge cell temperature and phase reference analog signals and facilitates communication between various components in the system. Features The primary function of the board is to provide a communication link between the control system's input/output modules and the system's central processing unit.

It interfaces with various input/output modules, including analog and digital signals, converting them into a digital format for CPU processing. The board also includes diagnostic and monitoring features for fault detection and reporting. Used in Innovation Medium Voltage-GP, Type H drives, it connects the Bridge Interface card (BICR) and the Fiber Optic Hub card via a 15V to 5V digital bus interface. The board features two connectors: A backplane connector, P1, located along the board's back edge for system connection. Access to individual pin signals may require a custom extender board. A 50-pin ribbon connector labeled PLO for connection to the Fiber Optic Hub card. Includes four test points labeled REFA, REFB, REFC, and ACOM. The board also contains a transistor, one relay, several resistors and capacitors, and six integrated circuits.

A 1024-bit memory chip stores the board ID and revision information, accessed via a single data line on the P1 connector. The board serves as an important component in a turbine control system (TCS), facilitating communication between the TCS and the plant's control system. It handles both digital and analog signals, enabling efficient operation and monitoring of critical parameters like speed, temperature, and pressure. User-Configurable Data Bytes: Users can configure data bytes as either inputs or outputs, enhancing customization and adaptability to different data processing scenarios. Transparent or Bit/Byte Data Transmission: Supports multiple data transmission modes, including transparent, bit, and byte modes, facilitating granular control and efficient communication.
