The M‑2032B Battery Charger/Power Supply provides 24 Vdc output to power
the low voltage configured M‑7600 series of Beckwith Electric Protection and
Control Systems. Also provided is a 13.8 Vdc output which can be used to
power radios or other auxiliary equipment.
In addition to providing output power, the M‑2032B is capable of charging 24
Vdc batteries when main power is supplied. Included is circuitry to detect a
loss of main power and automatically provide backup power from the 24 Vdc
batteries ensuring operation is not interrupted.

Stand Alone Applications
In a stand alone application the M‑2032B is designed to provide the following
features:
• 24 Vdc Output
• 13.8 Vdc Output
• 24 Vdc Battery Charging
• Circuitry to detect a loss of main power and automatically provide backup power
from the 24 Vdc batteries ensuring operation is not interrupted.
• When running on the 24 Vdc batteries the M‑2032B will shut down if the battery
voltage drops below 19 Vdc.
The M‑2032B is intended for indoor use or mounted inside a chassis or enclosure
only.
Battery Charging Features
The M‑2032B is designed to charge a 24 V sealed lead‑acid battery. It includes an
internal circuit to prevent overcharging of the batteries and extend their life.
• Tri‑Level Bulk/Absorption/Float Charger with Pre‑Charge
• When battery voltage is below 21 Vdc the charge current is limited to 40 mAdc
(Pre‑Charge), once the battery voltage is greater than 21 Vdc, the charger will begin
charging at the higher rates (Bulk/ Absorption/Float).
This prevents high current in a damaged battery. The Bulk mode charges the battery
at a rate that minimizes charge time and maximizes battery capacity. The Float mode
maintains the battery charge after the Bulk mode charge has finished, preventing
overcharging of the battery.
• The battery charge voltage is temperature compensated to optimize battery
charge and life.
The M‑2067B is an adapter panel which, when combined with the M‑2001
Series Digital Tapchanger Control, provides convenient direct replacement
for Westinghouse SVC and SVR controls and Beckwith Electric M‑0067
series controls. The M‑2067B can also be used, with the M‑2001 Series
Tapchanger Control, as a general purpose LTC transformer control.
The M‑2067B permits changing of the M‑2001 control without adapter
panel removal or rewiring.
Adapts M‑2001 Series Digital Tapchanger Control to Replace Westinghouse
SVC and SVR Controls and Beckwith Electric M‑0067 Tapchanger Controls,
or as a General Purpose LTC Transformer Control
• Connects easily to the M‑2001 Series Digital Tapchanger Control using
four mounting screws and 24‑pin connector
• Provides mounting adaptable to several different configurations
• Provides built‑in CT shorting protection when the M‑2001 Series
Tapchanger Control is removed

for wire terminations.
Testing Specifications
High Voltage: All input and output terminals will withstand 1500 Vac rms to
chassis or instrument ground for one minute with a leakage current not to
exceed 25 mA, for all terminals to ground. Input and output circuits are
electrically isolated from each other, from other circuits and from ground.
Surge Withstand Capability: All input and output circuits are protected against
system transients. Units pass all requirements of ANSI/IEEE C.37.90.1-1989
defining surge withstand capability.
Radiated Electromagnetic Withstand Capability: All units are protected against
electromagnetic radiated interference from portable communications transceivers
as outlined in ANSI/IEEE C37.90.2-1987 defining radiated electromagnetic
withstand capability.
• M-2948 Tap Position Sensor directly mechanically replaces the Selsyn-Type Tap
Position Sensor.
• Directly interfaces with a 4 to 20 mA output to the M-2025D Current Loop Interface
which provides the tap position to the M-2001 Series Tapchanger Control.
• Rotation – 0 to 210°, 297°, 306°, 315°, 325°, 330°, 340° and 350° configurations
• Degrees per Tap – 9° or 10°
• Neutrals – 1, 2, 3, 5 or 6
• Rotation Direction – Tap Position Sensors are available with either a positive
or negative rotation. With positive rotation, the shaft of the M-2948 rotates
clockwise while raising taps. With negative rotation, the shaft of the
M-2948 rotates counter-clockwise while raising taps.
The M‑2069 Adapter Panel, when combined with the M‑2001C or M-2001D
Digital Tapchanger Control, offers convenient, direct replacement of
Westinghouse SVC or SVR controls and Beckwith Electric M‑0067E controls
or M-2067B adapter panels.
The M‑2069-M-2001D combination can also be used as a general purpose
LTC transformer control.
