The New Standard for Value-Driven Precision
MPS-LM stages define a new benchmark for high-quality linear motion
that breaks the traditional tradeoff between precision and price. This
makes them the ideal solution for demanding applications that require
a careful balance of performance and cost, without forcing you to
compromise on core technology. MPS-LM stages feature anti-creep,
crossed-roller bearings and ironless linear motors with exceptionally
high force density, resulting in smooth, precise motion. Plus, MPS-LM
stages are form-factor compatible with our industry-leading ANT-L
family of nanopositioning stages—offering OEMs an easy and efficient
means to scale.

Reduce Output-Switching Noise
The MFM Motor Filter Module reduces conducted line noise
generated by pulse width modulation (PWM)-switching servo
amplifiers. Use the MFM with our Automation1 XC4e, XC2e,
XC4 and XC2 servo motor drives.
The Enhanced Throughput Module (ETM) improves the positioning
performance of high-dynamic motion systems by directly measuring
the unwanted motion of the machine base and communicating it back
to the controller. By working in concert with the Dynamic Controls
Toolbox and the Aerotech controllers, ETM allows the servo system to
do a superior job of executing the desired motion path.
Noncontact Direct-Drive Technology
Only noncontact direct-drive technology offers the robust, accurate and
high-speed positioning necessary for mass production of precision devices.
MPS-LM stages use our advanced direct-drive technology to achieve superior
positioning performance. An ironless linear motor eliminates motor cogging
effects that would otherwise cause position errors and disturbances.
Coupled with anti-creep, crossed-roller bearings, MPS-LM delivers smooth,
consistent motion with outstanding dynamic characteristics to enhance your
process capability at an attractive price point. The optimized drive and bearing
combination, packaged in a compact form factor, offers distinct performance
advantages in many applications such as high-precision positioning, fiber
alignment, optics manufacturing and inspection, sensor testing and scanning
processes that demand smooth and precise motion.
Flexible System Design
MPS-LM stages feature convenient mounting patterns in the base and tabletop
to allow for easy system integration. Multiple stages can be assembled together
for flexible system designs and application-specific, multi-axis configuration.
Because MPS-LM stages are form-factor, drop-in compatible with our industry-
leading family of ANT nanopositioners, you can effortlessly combine MPS-LM
and ANT stages into multi-axis systems to achieve a balance of nanometer-level
performance and cost effectiveness.
High Precision ER Collet
The collet chuck on the ACS 100LP accepts an ER8 series collet, while
the ACS 150LP uses an ER25 collet and the ACS 200LP uses an ER40
collet. These collets are readily available from machine tool component
suppliers in sizes that support tube diameters from 0.5 mm to 30 mm.
ER collets provide excellent run-out characteristics for applications
requiring high-precision gripping of tubular material. The collet is
retained with a threaded retaining nut that enables quick changeover,
and is configured in a “fail-safe” normally-closed mode where full
clamping force is applied when no air pressure is present.
Compact Package
The design of the ACS LP series direct-drive rotary stage was optimized
to minimize stage height. The low profile of the stage reduces the effective
working height of the system minimizing “stack-up” related errors.
Integral Rotary Union
Air is delivered to the collet or gripper assembly through an integral rotary
union using a seal-less, frictionless design. This 100% noncontact rotary-
union design ensures a lifetime of maintenance-free operation.
The combination collet chuck and rotary union assembly also has significantly
less friction and inertia than external assemblies created from discrete parts.
This reduced inertia improves system performance by allowing higher peak
acceleration and reducing position error during laser machining operations.
