Comparison of Meter Versions
This Instruction Manual covers the PXM 4000/6000/8000 series. Introduced
in 2010. the PXM series includes significant Microprocessor and Memory
upgrades from the PX series introduced in 2006. To determine the series,
check the Model number printed on the product label located on the left side
of the meter, as shown below.

Other Changes:
• Meter includes blue highlights, on bottom, as shown below.
• Model number has been changed from PX to PXM, and previous digit for the
memory option will be “1” to represent standard communiction
• Power supply module has changed and cannot be used with first generation
meters (PX) and vice versa
• Low voltage (24-48 VDC) DC version is not available for the PXM
• Real-time clock - 10-year battery moved from power module to coreboard
• The new PXM firmware has been written to be compatible with the older PX
meters on its RS485 subnetwork; however, the PXM must be the master in this
arrangement.
This Instruction Manual describes the PXM 4000/6000/8000 series. For instructions
and specifications on the PX4000/6000/8000 series refer to IB02601003E.
Eaton's molded case circuit breaker portfolio
Eaton manufactures a variety of molded case circuit breakers designed for
use in multiple industries and conditions. Take a look at our MCCB portfolio.
XV-102 Compact and powerful operating and control devices
Eaton operates an independent development center, the ‘Cybersecurity
Center of Excellence’ (CCoE), specifically designed to combat the threats
posed by cyber attacks. All Eaton products are regularly qualified for
secure operation.
The XV-102 devices with an Embedded Linux operating system
seamlessly integrate into Eaton CCoE’s ‘Defense in Depth’ cybersecurity
concept. The devices boot from a write protected memory, and only
operating system software updates signed by Eaton can be installed
on the devices. All device settings and interfaces are secured via
password entries, which also withstand a brute force attack.
Communication channels can be selectively activated and encrypted
for the required tasks. However, cybersecurity and usability are not
mutually exclusive. Guided by the first-boot agent, the prepared
application software and device configuration are installed easily and
efficiently via a USB memory during machine or system commissioning.
The application software and process data can optionally be installed
on an encrypted SD card, and in the event of a device replacement,
the application-specific data can simply be taken over to the replacement
device.
Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series range of MTL intrinsically safe (IS) isolated
power supplies are ideal for providing power to instrumentation in
hazardous process areas. They offer a wide range of different IS output
voltages, ranging from 4.8V - 17.7V, offering flexibility of options to best
suit a variety of applications.
9491-PS-PLUS models: Safe area / Zone 2 mount power supply that takes
standard 24V DC input and produces an intrinsically safe, 12V DC nominal
output. Capable of powering the Ethernet modules and other IS devices -
with Ex ia output (up to 200mA) for devices mounted in Zone 0. and Ex ib
output (up to 400mA) for devices mounted in Zone 1 Gas Group IIB
hazardous areas.
9492-PS-PLUS models: Safe area / Zone 2 mount power supply that takes
standard 24V DC input and produces an intrinsically safe, 12V DC nominal
output. The optimum solution for powering MTL 947x-ET/G Ethernet modules
and other IS devices - with Ex ia output (up to 200mA) for devices mounted
in Zone 0. and Ex ib output (up to 400mA) for devices mounted in Zone 1 Gas
Group IIB hazardous areas.
MTL 9493-PS models: Safe area / Zone 2 mount power supply range that takes
standard 24V DC input and produces intrinsically safe, 5.4 to 18V nominal output.
With Ex ia output for devices mounted in Zone 0 and Zone 1. Gas Group IIB and
IIC hazardous areas.
Eaton’s NZM Series molded case circuit breaker is suitable for global markets
and provides a range of protection units including selective LSI electronic trip
units, as well as motor protection with built-in single phase sensitivity.
