Part Number IS220PPRFH1B Manufacturer General Electric Country of Manufacture As Per GE Manufacturing Policy Series Mark VIe Function Module Availability In StockIS220PPRFH1B is a PROFIBUS Master Gateway I/O Module developed by GE under Mark VIe series. It is a PROFIBUS DPV0, Class 1 master that maps Mark VIe controllers on the I/O Ethernet to I/O from PROFIBUS slave devices. The module includes a processor board that is shared by all Mark VIe distributed I/O modules and an acquisition carrier board that is equipped with a Hilscher GmbH-provided COM-C PROFIBUS communication module.
IS220PPRFH1B Features
A PROFIBUS RS-485 interface is provided by the COM-C module through a DE-9 D-sub receptacle connector. It functions as a PROFIBUS DP master, supporting up to 125 slaves with 244 bytes of inputs and outputs each with transmission rates ranging from 9.6 KBaud to 12 MBaud. The following redundancy options are supported by the PPRF: A single I/O Ethernet connection for a single I/O pack (no redundancy) A single I/O pack with two Ethernet connections for the I/Os Hot-backup Ethernet connections with two ports Other IO packs share the twin I/O Ethernet connection design. However, two PPRFs are used in the hot-backup system, one of which is active and connecting with slave devices via
PROFIBUS and the other of which is passive and in standby mode, ready to take over in the case of an active master failure. Compatibility The PPRF is mounted on the PROFIBUS Master Gateway Terminal board (SPIDG1A), which also provides an electronic ID. As the PROFIBUS connection is connected to the DE-9 D-sub receptacle connector exposed on the side of the PPRF, the interface to the PPRF is the sole connection it has. Indicator LEDs on the PPRF give visual diagnostics. The number of I/O packs utilized in a signal path is referred to as the control mode: One I/O pack and one or two network connections are used by Simplex. Two I/O packs with two network connections each are used in hot-backup. IS220PPRFH1B Operation Processor The I/O pack or module function-specific acquisition board is connected to the processor board. The soft-start circuit ramps up the voltage available on the processor board when input power is applied. The processor reset is turned off and the local power supply are turned on in order.
After finishing self-test routines, the processor loads application code from flash memory that is particular to the I/O pack or module type. To verify that the application code, acquisition board, and terminal board are correctly matched, the application code reads the board ID information. PROFIBUS Gateway Hardware The PROFIBUS DP (Decentralized Periphery) feature is implemented by firmware in the PPRFs COM-C module, which is based on Siemens ASPC2 technology. TEL:+8618144100983 The PPRF only offers the fundamental DPV0 capability, which includes configuring slave devices, cyclically exchanging I/O data with them, and receiving PROFIBUS diagnostics, despite the fact that the COM-C module is DPV1 capable. Data Flow between PPRF and Controller Fixed I/O and PROFIBUS I/O are the two types of data flow that go between the PPRF and the controller. The few inputs and outputs that are fixed include those that are shared by all I/O packs, including L3DIAG and IOPackTmpr, but there are no application-driven outputs. The PPRF firmware contains a predefined set of fixed I/O. According to the hardware configuration supplied by the application, PROFIBUS I/O is defined as the data exchanged between PROFIBUS slave devices.
