The EL3182 analog input terminal for HART-capable field devices
supplies measuring transducers located in the field and transmits
their analog measuring signals electrically isolated to the
automation device. With a technical measuring range of 107% of
the nominal range, the terminal also supports commissioning with
sensor values in the limit range and the evaluation according to
NAMUR NE43.

The EtherCAT Terminal indicates the signal state by means of light
emitting diodes. Error LEDs signal overload and wire breakage, in
addition to which LEDs provide information about the state of the
HART communication and signal any communication errors.
The HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) protocol
enables two-way communication through digital data transfer via
the analog 0/4…20 mA wiring. In this way, in addition to the analog
current signal, further data can be exchanged with the field device
via the superimposed digital signal.
The HART communication can also be used for the FDT/DTM concept.
The TwinCAT FDT container enables the integration of field device DTMs
into TwinCAT Engineering, so that the device configuration and diagnostic
functions are available directly within the development environment.
As the FDT concept only supports 32-bit, it cannot be used in the 64-bit
TwinCAT XAE Shell.
The EL3174-0002 analog input terminal has four individually parameterizable
inputs. Signals in the range from -10/0 to +10 V or -20/0/+4 to +20 mA can
be processed via each channel. Each channel should be set by the controller
to U or I mode via CoE. The input voltage or current is digitized with a
resolution of 16 bits, and is transmitted, electrically isolated, to the higher-
level automation device. With a technical measuring range of ±107% of the
nominal range, the terminal also supports commissioning with sensor values
in the limit range and diagnostics according to NAMUR NE43.
The voltage inputs are differential; the current inputs are single-ended.
This means that one channel connection point in each case is connected
to the 24 V DC power contact in the terminal. All inputs are digitized with
a 16-bit resolution and transmitted to the superordinate automation system
under electrical isolation. With a technical measuring range of ±107% of
the nominal range, the terminal also supports commissioning with sensor
values in the limit range and evaluation in accordance with NAMUR NE43.
The ED3074 analog input terminal is a universal 10 V/20 mA input
module
in the 16-bit class for simple control tasks. Input signals in the -10/0...
+10 V or -20/0/+4...+20 mA ranges can be processed per channel.
Voltage and current signals are connected to different terminal points.
CoE can be used to set each channel to U or I mode in TwinCAT or from
the controller.
