The ED2889 digital output terminal connects the binary 24 V DC control
signals from the automation device on to the actuators at the process
level with electrical isolation.
The EtherCAT Terminal has 16 channels that indicate their signal state
via light emitting diodes (status LEDs). The power contacts are looped
through internally. In the ED2889 the outputs are supplied via the 0 V
DC power contact.

The connection technology is optimized for single-ended signals (common
reference point). To ensure error-free operation, all connected components
must use the same reference as the ED2889 terminal.
Special features:

The EL2872 digital output terminal offers a very compact design
with its 16 channels. A 20-pin contact strip enables the secure
connection of plug connectors using insulation displacement
contact, as is usual for ribbon cables and special round cables.
This significantly simplifies the wiring of many channels.
The signal states of the channels are indicated by LEDs.
The EL2838 digital output terminal connects the binary control signals
of the automation device to the actuators at process level with electrical
isolation. The EtherCAT Terminal contains eight channels, which indicate
their signal status by means of LEDs.
The integrated diagnostics can be evaluated in the controller and are
indicated by the LEDs. A diagnostic bit is set for the affected channel if
there is an overload. The diagnostics serve to simplify the maintenance
of the application. The power contacts are looped through.
The outputs of the EL2838 are supplied via the 24 V power contact.
The outputs are electrically isolated from the fieldbus side.
