Beckhoff CX2500-1060 | Ethernet module for CX20xx, CX52x0, CX53x0, CX56x0

The system modules are connected to the CPU on the left-hand side via a

multi-pin connector. Internally they are connected via PCI Express®.

For the CX20xx family, up to four modules can be connected in any order.

One module can be connected to CX52x0. CX53x0 or CX56x0.

The CX5130 has an Intel Atom® dual-core processor with a clock rate of

1.75 GHz. This makes genuine multi-core technology possible in the

Embedded PC segment. The hardware interfaces in this series are oriented

and implemented identically to those of the existing CX5000 series.

Two independent, Gigabit-capable Ethernet interfaces as well as four USB 2.0

and a DVI-I interface are available. A multitude of further connection options

and gateway functions is created by an optional interface, which can be

pre-equipped ex factory, as well as the I/O level, which can optionally consist

of either E-bus or K-bus terminals.

The CX5130 is characterized by low power consumption and fanless design.

Depending on the installed TwinCAT runtime environment, the CX5130 can be

used for implementing PLC or PLC/motion control projects with or without

visualization. The execution of motion control applications with interpolating

axis movements is also possible.

Like the CX5000. the CX5100 series has a compact design; a modular device

with extension modules like in the CX2000 series is not available.

Compact PLC with Arm® Cortex®-A53 and Beckhoff RT Linux®

The CX8200 Embedded PC series is a further development of the existing

CX8100 series and combines higher computing power in a compact format

for a wide range of automation tasks. Equipped with a faster, modern Arm®

Cortex®-A53 processor with 64 bit architecture, users benefit from a

significantly higher clock frequency of 1.2 GHz and two cores for compact

controls. The multi-core CPUs allow PLC projects to be distributed to several

cores for significantly enhanced performance.

The CX8200 Embedded PC series forms the link between the CX7000 and

CX8100 series on one hand, and the CX9240 on the other, opening up whole

new application areas and possibilities thanks to the more modern CPU and

the same low power consumption. A particular highlight of the new series is

the significantly faster 1 Gbit Ethernet interface and the expansion of the

main memory to a larger 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM, which represents double the

main memory compared to the predecessor series. What’s more, the series

also offers a USB 3.0 interface that can be used for connecting wireless and

cellular components or additional USB storage media.

The CX8190 is a controller with two Ethernet ports, one of which is switched to two RJ45

sockets. It supports protocols such as real-time Ethernet, ADS UDP/TCP or EAP (EtherCAT

Automation Protocol). K-bus or E-bus terminals can be attached as required; the CX8190

automatically recognizes the type of I/O system connected during the start-up phase. 

The control system is programmed with TwinCAT 3 via the fieldbus interface or the additional

Ethernet interface. TwinCAT 3 licenses must be ordered via the TwinCAT 3 price list.

Further TwinCAT 3 functions and protocols are available for the CX8190. for example OPC UA,

MQTT, Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU. All functions and protocols can be found in the TwinCAT

product finder if you set the filter under TwinCAT 3 platform level to P20.
