GE VMIVME-3114 Analog I/O Board

Introduction 

The VMIVME-3113A 64-Channel Scanning, 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) is one of the highest 

density/lowest cost per channel boards in the industry. 

In addition, it contains many features found only on more expensive products. 

The AUTOSCANNING MODE, which is automatically entered on power up, performs Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversions 

on all inputs and stores them in a dedicated channel dual-port register. 

This allows the user to operate the board without any programming. 

The user simply reads the data from the dual-port registers which always contain the latest converted data for that particular channel. 

There are five other ADC operating modes which allow greater flexibility in controlling the ADC operation. 

The VMIVME-3113A Board is useful for many applications which require a large number of differential inputs to be converted to digital form. 

Overvoltage protected inputs, input filters, programmable timers and jumper-programmable gain features 

lend the board to such applications as factory automation and instrumentation, process control, 

laboratory instrumentation and general data acquisition systems.

A Built-in-Test (BIT) mode permits verification of the input multiplexer and A/D converter.

Discrete wire connectors require a housing with a retaining bar. We recommend the Harting housing.

Its order number is 09 03 096 0501. This housing latches the discrete wire cable to the board connector and provides strain relief.

Input/Output Organization: 16 output ports, 8-bit wide, 128 total outputs.

Addressable to any address within Short-Circuit Monitor and/or Short-Circuit Non-Privileged or Short-Circuit Monitor and/or Short-Circuit Non-Privileged or Short-Circuit Non-Privileged.

Standard Monitor and/or Standard Unprivileged I/O mapping.

Addressing Scheme: 32 bytes, individually addressable on 8. 16. or 32-bit boundaries. The board ID register is located at the board's base address.

The Control and Status Register (CSR) is stacked on top of the ID register. 16 output bytes are located above the CSR. 20 jumpers identify the board's base address.

Another jumper is used for the standard or short address.
