The ABB REG670 is a device for the protection, control and monitoring of generators and generator-transformer groups. 

It is suitable for all sizes from small to large generator sets. 

The REG670 has a comprehensive feature library to meet the needs of most generator applications. 

It has a large number of analog input channels and an extensive function library, 

allowing multiple functions to be integrated in a single device.

In a typical application, two units can provide full functionality and provide a high degree of redundancy.

The REG670 includes traditional 95% stator ground protection as well as 

injection-based 100% stator ground protection and third harmonic based protection. 

With injection-based protection, 100% of the stator windings can be protected in all operating modes, including star points. 

The third harmonic based 100% stator grounding protection uses the third harmonic differential voltage principle. 

The injection 100% stator ground protection can operate even when the generator is shut down.
