The EX2100 Excitation Control's exciter PPT ac supply voltage and current are measured by the IS200EACF Exciter Ac Feedback board (EACF). The terminal board comprises terminals for two Flux/Air core coils as well as transformers for three-phase voltage measurement. Three DB9 connectors are used to link the voltage and current circuit outputs to the controllers M1, M2, and C. Up to 90 m of cable can be used to connect the EBKP backplane board to the EACF. The EACF board is located in the exciter auxiliary cabinet.

The board is available in three different versions: EACFG1, EACFG2, and EACFG3, each of which can handle inputs up to 480, 1000, and 1300 V rms. The input voltage rating for revisions EACFG3BAA and later is 1400 V rms. The flux/air core input signals are given with high-frequency noise reduction close to the site of the signal entrance. Where applicable, the input screws are three inches or less from the cable shield terminal screws that are connected to the chassis ground. EXCITER VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT: The nominal range of the G1 version's single three-phase input voltage is up to 480 V rms +20% at 50/60 Hz. The nominal range of the G2 version's single three-phase input voltage is up to 1000 V rms +20% at 50/60 Hz. The G3 version supports a single three-phase input voltage in the nominal range up to 1300 V rms +20% at 50/60 Hz.

The nominal 1.6 V rms from their secondary outputs is provided by the potential transformers on both boards. The nominal secondary output voltage range of the air core current transformers is 0 to 0.8 V rms at 50/60 Hz. APPLICATION DATA The image below depicts the EACF board's layout. Three-phase voltage transformers T1 through T4 are used. For the voltage inputs, use TB1, TB2, and TB3 individual screw connectors. The two Flux/Air core coils are wired through terminal block TB4. Cables for the EMIO boards are connected to the EBKP backplane using the three 9-pin sub-D connectors J504, J509, and J514.

The voltage test rings TP1-4 are used to gauge the potential transformers' output phase voltage as follows: Determine the Phase to Phase (or Line) Voltage AB between TP1 and TP2. Get the Phase to Phase Voltage BC using TP3 and TP4. Obtain the Phase to Phase Voltage CA between TP4 and TP1.
