Beckhoff EL2612 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel relay output, 125 V AC, 30 V DC, 0.5 A AC, 2 A DC

The EL2602-0010 output terminal has two relays each of which has a single contact.

The relay terminal switches at the zero voltage crossing to protect the contacts and

is particularly suitable for capacitive loads such as LED lamps.

A practical test was able to show that an EL2622-0010 remained fully functional at

a capacitive continuous current load of 4 A after 200.000 switching cycles

(for details see documentation). The signal state of the EtherCAT Terminal is

indicated by light emitting diodes.The EL2595 EtherCAT Terminal contains a

constant current source for LEDs and is designed to control one or more LEDs

connected in series.

The user specifies the required set current, the integrated power supply unit

then provides the required forward voltage, depending on the connected LEDs.

For this purpose, the EL2595 has a step-up/step-down power supply unit,

which generates the output voltage from the 24 V DC input voltage.

The output voltage is also adjusted during operation in order to maintain the

set current. The current can be switched quickly for short-term lighting,

hence even extremely short flashes of light are possible. The pulse duration

is adjustable from 1 µs to infinity, the flash time itself can be set through a

timestamp via distributed clocks; an external trigger input is also available.

Extensive real-time diagnostics, e.g. for input current/voltage and output

current/voltage allow detailed monitoring of the LED light intensity.

If a specifiable load corridor is exited, e.g., due to load errors, the EL2595

switches off to protect the load (resettable).

The EL2212 digital output terminal connects the binary control signals

from the automation device on to the actuators at the process level

with electrical isolation. The multi-timestamp features allow each

EtherCAT cycle to capture as many events per channel as were

preloaded in the internal buffer.

The EL2212 supports the particularly fast switching of inductive loads,

such as valves or relays. 24 to 72 V DC supplies are connected to the

power contacts and passed through to the load when switched on.

After an adjustable waiting period the terminal begins to control

channel-wise the current in order to protect the load.

The switching process can be positioned exactly using the timestamp.

The switch-off process is also accelerated considerably by the pole 

reversal of the voltage. The two channels are independently controllable.

Optimized control of proportional valves with PWM

The EL2535-xxxx output terminals are specially designed for the precise

control of single and double-coil proportional valves and proportional

solenoid valves. They regulate the output current through pulse width

modulation (PWM) of the supply voltage and are electrically isolated

from the E-bus. The current values (0 to maximum output current)

are specified by the automation device through a 16-bit value. 

The output stages are protected against overload and short circuit.

Each EtherCAT pulse width current terminal contains two channels

whose signal state is indicated by LEDs. The light emitting diodes

simplify local diagnosis by displaying typical load and wiring faults.
