AC eHouse is a prefabricated walk-in modular outdoor enclosure to house a selection of different medium

voltage (MV) switchgear and an auxiliary equipmentfor your AC Railway applications. 

It is ready to operate in the field with minimum installation, commissioning and start up time - as an alternative to traditional

on-site building construction (concrete block, brick construction or similar).

They are ideally suited for any project where there is a need to reduce on-site work, especially in remote areas

where qualified personnel is sometimes not available and all labor is expensive and difficult to manage.

ABB has combined its extensive experience with eHouses and its AC products knowledge to create this

customizable medium-voltage AC railway eHouse product.

Application

REF610 is a versatile multifunction protection relay mainly designed for protection

of incoming and outgoing feeders in MV distribution substations. 

The relay can also be used as back-up protection for motors, transformers and generators, in industrial

as well as in utility applications.

The large number of integrated protection functions, including three-stage

overcurrent protection, two-stage, non-directional earth-fault protection as well as

thermal protection, makes the relay a complete protection against overcurrent and earth faults.

The optional arc protection for detection of arc situations in air insulated metal-clad

switchgears and the auto-reclose function for automatic clearing of overhead line

faults increase the range of applications further.

The large number of digital inputs and output contacts allows a wide range of applications.

REF610 is a member of ABB’s Relion® product family and part of its 610 product series. 

The series includes protection relays for feeder protection, motor protection and general system voltage supervision. 

The plug-in design facilitates the commissioning of the switchgear and enables fast and safe insertion and withdrawal of protection relay plug-in units.

REF610 is primarily intended for the protection of incoming and outgoing feeders in distribution substations of 

resistance earthed and solidly earthed power systems. 

REF610 is suitable for employment in marine and off-shore environments. 

Supplied with an optional arc protection function REF610 also provides fast substation busbar arc-fault protection.
