System isolation

The VM600Mk2 uses a single type of card (MPC4Mk2) for monitoring and condition monitoring.

However, these functions are tightly segregated to ensure API 670 compliance and reduce costs.

A separate (optional) XMV16 condition monitoring card is available for applications

with a large number of channels.

High channel density

The standalone VM600Mk2 protection card has 4 input channels, but each VM600 can be expanded

to a maximum of 48 input channels Mk2 racks, allowing vibration protection to be

extended to the most demanding rotating machinery.

Advanced Monitoring

The stand-alone VM600Mk2 condition monitoring card offers 16 dynamic channels and 4 tachometer channels,

which can all be independently configured to provide unrivaled accuracy and reliability.

Centralized architecture

Its centralized architecture allows for high channel density, making

the VM600Mk2 excellent at providing advanced vibration protection

and monitoring for large (critical) machinery.

The MPC4 Machine Protection Card is the centerpiece of the VM600 series of Machine

Protection Systems (MPS) from Meggitt's Vibrometer® product line.

The card is extremely versatile, capable of measuring and monitoring up to four

dynamic signal inputs and two velocity inputs simultaneously.

The dynamic signal inputs are fully programmable and can accept the following signals

acceleration, velocity and displacement (proximity) signals.

On-board multi-channel processing allows measurement of a wide range of physical

parameters including relative and absolute vibration, Smax, eccentricity, thrust position,

absolute and differential case expansion, displacement and dynamic pressure.

Digital processing includes digital filtering, integration or differentiation (if required),

rectification (RMS, average, true peak, or true peak-to-peak), order tracking

(amplitude and phase), and measurement of transducer-to-target clearance.

The VibroSmart® distributed monitoring system (DMS) is a system of modular and scalable

products designed for condition monitoring and machinery protection applications for power

generation turbines, oil and gas applications and auxiliary balance-of-plant equipment.

VibroSmart® modules can be mounted directly on machinery, eliminating the need for costly

cabling, because it is designed and certified to work in extremes, such as harsh industrial

environments characterized by potentially explosive atmospheres (Ex Zone 2), high

temperatures (70°C, 158°F) and high mechanical stress. VibroSmart® complements the

VM600Mk2/VM600 series of rack-based solutions from Meggitt’s vibro-meter® product line

and is compatible with the same VibroSight® machinery monitoring system software.
