It is a part of the Drive Control system and the CANopen Master Gateway system. The CANopen network supports a specific set of devices for seamless integration and optimal performance.

This ensures efficient data exchange and synchronization among connected devices on the CANopen network. Redundancy Options Single I/O pack with single I/O Ethernet connection: This configuration provides standard operation without redundancy.

CANopen Gateway Hardware Features The CANopen Gateway Hardware in the PCNO system utilizes the COM-C module, which is intricately designed to facilitate communication between various components within the network. Here's a detailed expansion on the hardware and its functionalities: COM-C Module Overview: The COM-C module is constructed around a CANopen core, which is derived from the Hilscher GmbH family of communication network interface modules.

This core forms the foundation for efficient and reliable communication within the PCNO system. Firmware Management: The firmware of the COM-C module is stored in flash memory and is an integral part of the PCNO firmware package. During the startup of the I/O pack, the firmware is only downloaded to the COM-C flash if deemed necessary. This occurs, for instance, when there's an updated version of the COM-C firmware released alongside the PCNO firmware. CANopen Configuration File: In addition to firmware, the COM-C module requires a CANopen configuration file. This file is loaded from the ToolboxST application and specifies crucial parameters for the PCNO master, as well as other standard I/O pack configurations. Any changes made to the CANopen configuration file necessitate a reboot of the PCNO system for the changes to take effect. 

Flash Memory Management: Both the COM-C firmware file and the CANopen configuration file are stored in the flash memory of the COM-C module. However, these files are only downloaded from the PCNO flash to the COM-C flash if there are updates or changes required.
