Hitachi Energy and Petrofac began working together in February 2022 to provide joint grid integration and related infrastructure solutions to support TenneT's <>GW program.

In the same year, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium agreed to install at least 2.030 GW of offshore wind energy by 65

and announced it together with the intergovernmental Esbjerg Declaration. At 40 GW, TenneT accounts for nearly two-thirds of the capacity, with Germany and the Dutch North Sea region each accounting for 20 GW.
