Beckwith Electric M-2347 Adapter Panel

The M-2347 is an adapter panel which, when combined with the M-2001

Series Digital Tapchanger Control, provides convenient direct replacement

for Allis-Chalmers UJ-1 regulator controls. The M-2347 consists of a front

panel, supplemental printed circuit board, 24-pin extension cable and 6-pin

extension wire harness. Mounting of the front panel and supplemental

printed circuit board onto the control panel frame requires hole drilling

following the instructions provided with the M-2347.

• Connects easily to the M-2001 Series Digital Tapchanger Control using

mounting screws and 24-pin connector

• Provides mechanical replacement of the old regulator control using the

same control panel mounting frame, hardware and seven-position jack plug

• Provides built-in CT shorting protection when the M-2001 Series Digital

Tapchanger Control is removed

Interface

External connections are made using a wiring harness that connects from a

fifteen-position terminal block on the supplemental printed circuit board to

the seven-position jack plug which must be saved from the existing control.

An additional terminal block provides access to auxiliary functions, such as

self-test alarm, user-programmable alarm, auto disable and manual

Separate fuses for test terminal, voltage sensing and motor power are on the

front panel, and spare fuses for each are in the fuse holder.

Binding posts on the front panel allow easy connections for test procedures.

RAISE/OFF/LOWER, AUTO/OFF/MANUAL and VOLTAGE SOURCE switches are

standard.

The Allis-Chalmers regulator with which the UJ-1 control was used does not

provide for a neutral tap position light, a tap position drag-hands reset, or a

tapchanger operations counter. These functions are not active on the M-2347

Adapter Panel. Also the lack of the operation counter circuit in the regulator

prevents the use of the tap position function of the M-2001.
