capacity for the future. Can the FloBoss S600+

satisfy this requirement?

Yes. One FloBoss S600+ can now support one or two HART

modules, giving you 24 point-to-point connections or up to

50 transmitters in multi-drop mode.

7. There is a USB port on the FloBoss S600+. How

can I use it?

You can currently use the USB port on the rear of the CPU

module to download alarm, event, and history reports to a

USB fl ash drive.

8. What type of battery will the FloBoss S600+

use? Will it be possible to change the battery

in the field without the need to de-solder?

The battery back-up on the enhanced CPU module now uses

a standard 3.4V Li battery, designed for ease of replacement.

The battery can be easily unclipped and replaced without the

need to solder or de-solder.

9. What is the typical battery life expectancy?

The battery life expectancy is fi ve to seven years when the

FloBoss S600+ is powered by DC supply. When DC supply

power is not connected and the battery is installed, the life

expectancy is 18 months.

10. Are there any hardware features on the

existing FloBoss S600 platform that will

not be available on the new FloBoss S600+

machines?

The download port on the rear side of the FloBoss S600

has been removed, but the download port on the front

panel remains. An expansion port on the back of the

FloBoss S600 (which supported remote I/O) has also been

removed.
