1. Does the new FloBoss S600+ mount in the

panel the same way as the FloBoss S600?

Yes, the new FloBoss S600+ mounts in the panel exactly the

same way as the previous FloBoss S600.

2. How does the new FloBoss S600+ physically

differ from the previous FloBoss S600?

The case (chassis), I/O modules, prover modules, and HART®

modules are unchanged. The most signifi cant difference in

the FloBoss S600+ is the enhanced Central Processing Unit

(CPU) module, which continues to fi t in the FloBoss S600

case. The only difference in physical attributes pertains

to the name; there is now a ‘+’ symbol appended to the

FloBoss S600 name.

3. What is the difference in available Inputs and

Outputs with the new FloBoss S600+?

The new FloBoss S600+ provides additional communication

ports:

Second Ethernet port now provided as standard

Increase in number of serial ports

RS 232 Download Port on front panel (existing)

2 off RS 232 (existing)

3 off RS 422/485 (existing)

4 off RS 485 (additional)

USB port added to rear (additional)

4. Can I still use the optional Ethernet Module

(P190) with the new FloBoss S600+ to give

me two independent Ethernet ports?

No. The FloBoss S600+ CPU module now provides two

independent Ethernet ports, which are full duplex and

support 10 and 100MB/s. This effectively replaces the

Ethernet (P190) module, leaving an additional slot in the

case for more I/O.

5. Does this mean that I can have two Ethernet

ports as well as a standard I/O board, prover

board and a HART board in a single FloBoss

S600+?

Yes. Since the enhanced CPU module now provides

two Ethernet ports, you have greater fl exibility with the

remaining three slots in the FloBoss S600+ case. The I/O

(P144) module must always occupy the fi rst of the remaining

three slots, but you can place additional I/O, HART (P188) or

Prover (P154) modules.
