Rockwell Automation, a global leader in industrial automation, information technology and digital transformation, announced the new Allen Bradley FLEX 5000 analogue-safe I/O module.
The new Allen Bradley FLEX 5000 analogue safe I/O module helps process operators meet fail-safe requirements and minimise the risk of downtime in a wide range of process applications.
Rockwell Automation's analogue safe I/O modules incorporate safety features and achieve a system capability level of SC 3. The modules are TUV Rheinland certified and meet SIL 3.
The TUV Rheinland-certified modules meet SIL 3. PLe/Cat.4 functional safety requirements and can be installed in the same I/O bay as standard FLEX 5000 I/O modules to reduce system cost and complexity.
Ideally suited to process applications requiring speed/frequency measurements and temperature/pressure/flow sensor monitoring, the FLEX 5000 analogue safety I/O modules provide the functional safety protection required.
Potential applications include emergency shutdown, burner management, turbine control, compressor control, oil and gas fired auxiliary boilers, high pressure protection, lighting and ventilation management.
In addition to the new modules mentioned above, the FLEX 5000 product family includes a complete portfolio of digital and analogue fail-safe I/O modules to meet the requirements of a wide range of applications.
The user can simply select the right I/O module for the application.
The FLEX 5000 I/O can also be used for HART communication through the highly integrated HART communication function in the Studio 5000 Logix Designer application software.
The FLEX 5000 I/Os also provide easy access to process diagnostics and reduce downtime.
The modules allow direct connection of field signals, resulting in a smaller overall footprint. Tight integration with the command set in PlantPAx 5.0 and higher reduces engineering time.
