NI is returning to its offline Global User Conference after two years with the introduction of DataStudio software, a new complete design-to-test analytics software that lays the foundation for modern, secure and scalable engineering data infrastructures and applications that accelerate the pace of wireless communications, semiconductor and electronics innovation.
To meet the need for fast-tracking product development, DataStudio software bridges critical data across semiconductor design and test workflows.DataStudio Specification Compliance Manager (SCM), the first application in the DataStudio family, manages device specifications, DataStudio SCM provides a comprehensive view of a device's compliance with target specifications, enabling better decision-making and reporting, and leveraging data that is often lost in the fragmented silos of design, verification and production test. By laying the foundation for a comprehensive data architecture, engineers can gain clear and actionable insights that increase productivity and reduce the amount of manual work required during chip development.
In addition, NI is launching the DataStudio Bench Data Connector (BDC) verification platform test library. the BDC library provides a standardized method of storing validation data that is automatically compatible with DataStudio SCM, allowing benchmark measurements to be easily imported into compliance reporting software.
Over the past few decades, we have focused on design and test automation, a process that generates a lot of data,” said Ritu Favre, vice president and general manager of NI's Semiconductor and Electronics Business Unit. Our customers want to use this data to achieve better project visibility and thus better decision making. We are at a tipping point where the volume of data and the pressure to use that data is immense, and our customers are looking for solutions that can span the entire process.”
“Based on today's simulators, if a semiconductor prototype product doesn't meet all the specifications, it's hard to tell what the problem is. Was it a specific component that was defective? Is it a problem somewhere in the manufacturing process? Is it a fundamental flaw in the design?” Ritu explains. “To debug this, engineers have to use different tools and different data sets from different vendors to deal with these different silos of information. We're breaking down those barriers.”
DataStudio takes a modern, software-connected approach to designing and testing data with the needs of engineers in mind.Available for both local and cloud deployments, this latest product from NI will help accelerate workflow modernization from product definition to verification, to validation and finally to production testing, combining NI's rich software heritage with new cloud services and machine learning capabilities to give engineers who are rapidly engineers who are rapidly creating the future.
