Real-time clock to synchronize RTU560 with standard time on GPS satellites
Application
The remote terminal unit RTU560 can be synchronized with time information received from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites via module 560RCR01.
The RTU560 reads the time and date from the module 560RCR01 and synchronizes its internal time with standard time via minute pulses.
The RTU560 synchronizes its internal time with standard time by means of minute pulses.
Using the module 560RCR01 ensures that process information from multiple end devices, if it contains time information, is synchronized.
Features
GPS signals can be reliably received in the following situations
The antenna is mounted in a position where at least one satellite can be received. Under normal conditions
it can receive four satellites. When the

it begins to synchronize the RTU by

minute pulse output, which is connected to the module via an optocoupler (MIN2).
The time, date and status (33 bytes) are read out every minute via the serial data interface RS232.
Four light-emitting diodes on the front panel of the Real-Time Clock 560RCR01 are used to indicate the following operating states:
- ERR: Board Alarm Summary
- FRU: Free Run The 560RCR01 is not synchronized with GPS.
- LOC: Locked status
The 560RCR01 has calculated its position based on information received from four satellites. Its position is locked.
- MIN: Minute Pulse Pulse per Minute Blinking
