Applications
The RTU component 560NUS04 is an unmanaged plug-and-play 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch providing four Fast Ethernet auto-negotiation RJ45 ports.
It features automatic MDI/X (automatic crossover detection and correction). The switch is used to distribute Ethernet within the station and to provide Ethernet for the local area network (LAN).
It provides additional ports for local area networks (LANs) and can be used with the rackmount 560MPR01. 560MPR03. and 560SFR02.
Features
For documentation purposes, Ethernet ports are labeled as

The switch learns the Ethernet address by analyzing received frames.

The switch transparently forwards IEEE 802.1Q
VLAN frames and (fast) spanning tree control frames are forwarded transparently.
The switch never changes any frame or frame TAG.
The switch will support Quality of Service if using IEEE 802.1p compliant frame formats.
The switch supports quality of service if you use IEEE 802.1p-compliant frame formats. The switch divides frames into two queues
into two queues: a high-priority queue and a low-priority queue. The low-priority queue corresponds to the IEEE
Low priority corresponds to IEEE 802.1p class-of-service priorities 0 through 3. and high priority corresponds to 4 through 7.
The service rate between high and low priority queues is 16:1.
The 560NUS04 uses a 5 V supply voltage. The voltage can be set via a jumper to power the RTU internally or externally.
The Ethernet ports and the 560NUS04 board itself are hot-swappable.
This switch is not intended to provide fault-tolerant topologies such as ring or mesh networks.
Connectors and Indicators
The 560NUS04 switch consists of four RJ-45 Ethernet ports that are functionally identical.

The status of any switch port can be determined by two LED
indicators to determine the status of any switch port.
The green link LED in the upper jack (labeled L) indicates that the Ethernet connection is active with the following status:
- Off - No connection
- On - Ethernet connection established (link)
- Blinking - Ethernet activity (transmitting or receiving frames)
The amber speed LED in the lower jack (labeled S) indicates a 100 Mbps connection with the following status
100 Mbps connection with the following status:
- Off - Ethernet speed is 10 Mbps
- On - Ethernet speed is 100 Mbps
If a fatal error occurs on the switch, the red error LED (labeled ERR) and the alarm status will be active.
Alarm status can also be signaled by an isolated alarm relay. The relay can be deactivated via a jumper.
Topology
The 560NUS04 Switch provides four RJ45 ports for use with end devices, switches, bridges, hubs, or routers.
The 560NUS04 Switch can be easily constructed in a star or line topology.
However. the 560NUS04 switch does not support closing the loop or being part of any other redundant structure. If there may be more than one switch.
