Description.

The 1402-LS51 is a line synchronisation module designed to be incompatible with Allen-Bradley's 1771 PLC series.

It is a two (2) slot module with the same form factor as the 1771 series. The module measures 5 A full-scale current and 100/120 VAC.

It is primarily used to synchronise different three-phase systems, can perform engine governor control, and is used as a multi-function power metering device.

About the 1402-LS51

The Allen-Bradley 1402-LS51 is a line synchronisation module. The module is primarily used to synchronise two (2) different three-phase systems.

The module is a two-slot module that mounts directly to Allen-Bradley's 1771 chassis.

The 1402-LS51 provides automatic synchronisation, load sharing, and high-speed power system monitoring.

The 1402-LS51 performs voltage matching error in 0.05% steps; frequency matching error or slip in 0.01 Hz resolution; and synchronisation buses in 1 degree resolution.

Synchronisation bus and reference bus phase matching error in 1 degree resolution; and load sharing error in scalar measurements from 0.000 to +/- 1.000).

The module's synchronisation function provides various status feedbacks such as frequency within limits; voltage within limits; phase within limits; synchronisation mode conflict fault; phase rotation mismatch fault; phase rotation mismatch fault (0.000 to +/- 1.000 scalar).

Phase rotation mismatch fault (3-phase sync mode only); No reference bus voltage fault; No sync bus voltage fault; Reference bus overvoltage fault and Sync bus overvoltage fault.

The module's energy meter functions include a large number of measurable and calculable parameters, in particular current (amperes, per phase and neutral); average current (amperes); positive sequence current (amperes); and

Negative Sequence Current (Amps); Current Unbalance Percentage Voltage (Volts, per phase L-L, also L-N in 4-wire systems).

Average voltage (Volts, L-L, also L-N in four-wire systems); Positive-sequence voltage in Volts; Negative-sequence voltage in Volts; Percentage voltage unbalance.

Frequency in Hertz; phase rotation (ABC, ACB); power factor in per cent (total power factor, also per phase in four-wire systems).

Watts (total watts and watts per phase in a four-wire system); Volt-amperes (total volt-amperes and volt-amperes per phase in a four-wire system).

Varistors (total number of varistors and number of varistors per phase in a four-wire system); Power consumption in kWh.

reactive power consumption in kilovolt-amperes-hours; and demand (amperes, volt-amperes, and watts).

The 1402-LS51 module is a line synchronisation module manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation.

The Allen-Bradley 1402-LS51 Line Synchronisation Module is a solid-state module, not a hard-wired electromechanical module, which means it is suitable for a variety of industrial applications.

However, it should not be used for safety functions that require sudden surges of power, such as emergency stops.

Attempting to use this solid-state module for emergency functions may damage the module, cause it to fail, prevent the emergency or error it was designed to respond to, or cause injury to the user.

The purpose of the Allen-Bradley 1402-LS51 Line Synchronisation Module is to synchronise two different three-phase systems through features such as load sharing, automatic synchronisation, and high-speed power system monitoring.

The Allen-Bradley 1402-LS51 Line Synchronisation Module has 2 slots for installation in a standard 1771 I/O chassis, also manufactured by Allen-Bradley.

It can be used as a multifunction digital power monitor to synchronise 2 systems.

It measures all the appropriate parameters of the two connected three-phase systems to provide the appropriate error and control signals for the synchronisation process.

It is important that the Allen-Bradley 1402-LS51 Line Synchronisation Module be installed in a dry, clean industrial environment that does not contain strong magnetic fields, strong electric fields, or sustained high heat sources.

The synchronisation module can only be used in an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. It can be mounted in a local rack to maximise data transfer rates.
