PowerFlex 755TS Releases New Generation of Intelligent Drives

Rockwell Automation's next-generation PowerFlex PF755TS AC drives are now available in the Asia Pacific region. The new PF755TS AC drives support a wider range of motor control applications and utilize TotalFORCE technology to deliver more flexibility, performance and intelligence.

Rockwell Automation's Next-Generation PowerFlex PF755TS AC Drives

The new PowerFlex 755TS drive is Rockwell Automation's first six-pulse rectifier drive with TotalFORCE technology, enabling greater utilization of equipment. Previously, TotalFORCE technology was only available in the PowerFlex 755T drive with active front-end technology. Now, the technology can be used in a wider range of scenarios, such as traditional fans, pumps and conveyors, as well as advanced motor control applications that require higher performance without the need for a dedicated inverter solution.

The new product is suitable for virtually all motor control applications and delivers a simple and consistent user experience in three key areas:

● Flexible, high-performance control

The power range, voltage levels and performance of the inverter can meet the needs of a wide range of motor control applications. As a result, users can use the same inverter for multiple applications, simplifying support and reducing labor burdens.

● Intelligent operating experience

The built-in predictive model predicts the remaining service life of inverter components using a continuous operation monitoring function. With these techniques, users can replace components as needed, eliminating the need for periodic replacement, thereby reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

● Easy commissioning and optimization

With the adaptive control function, the inverter monitors the characteristics of the machine over time and automatically compensates for such changes. This helps the user to quickly commission the inverter and maintain it without the assistance of a commissioning expert. In addition, this helps reduce machine wear and extend normal operating life.

The PowerFlex 755TS is also available in an XT version with enhanced protection to help extend runtime and operating life in corrosive gas environments. The inverter has been rigorously tested and validated to a high standard of corrosive environment test protocols, with not only 30-day exposure testing to mixed stream gases according to industry-leading ASTM B845 Method K methodology, but also specialized testing that exceeds the requirements of existing industry standards.

To enhance network security for industrial operations, the PowerFlex 755TS inverter also supports CIP Security, which ensures the reliability, integrity and confidentiality of data and enhances the security of the control system against malicious remote access and manipulation by attackers.

The PowerFlex 755TS drives are designed to support easy migration from other PowerFlex 750 drives. 755TS drives are mechanically and electrically identical to other PowerFlex 755 drives, are plug-and-play, and feature the same physical dimensions, mounting holes, wiring locations, and slot architecture, allowing users to continue to utilize the existing PowerFlex 750 drives. The same physical dimensions, mounting holes, wiring locations and slot architecture allow users to continue using the I/O and safety cards of existing PowerFlex 750 drives. Additionally, the new product still features Rockwell Automation's Smart Integration Experience, which intelligently integrates with the Logix control platform to help simplify inverter configuration and programming.
