Stratix Introduces 0.7 Micron 50 Megapixel Image Sensor SC5000CS

Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch of Cellphone Sensor (CS) Series 50 megapixel image sensor for mobile phone applications - SC5000CS. As a 0.702 μm pixel-size image sensor, this new back-illuminated (BSI) product is equipped with Stellar Technology's unique SFCPixel-SL® technology, which combines the advantages of high dynamic range, ultra-low noise, PDAF phase detection focusing, and low power consumption. Combining the advantages of high dynamic range, ultra-low noise, PDAF phase detection focusing, and low power consumption, this new BSI sensor empowers the main camera of mainstream smartphones with excellent dark-light imaging performance, and helps the mobile imaging technology and user experience move to a new level.

High Dynamic Range and Low Noise, Dark Light Shooting is also Wonderful

The SC5000CS is equipped with SFCPixel-SL® technology, which is developed based on the patented SFCPixel® technology architecture of Steamboat. 1.0e- and 0.2e- or less, a significant reduction of about 33% and 43% respectively compared to industry products of the same specification, and its Pixel Response Non-Uniformity (PRNU) is reduced by about 54% in relative terms, resulting in finer picture details. In terms of high dynamic range modes, the SC5000CS supports double exposure non-interlaced HDR and line interlaced HDR (2-exp NHDR/SHDR) modes, which provide the mobile phone camera with excellent high dynamic range, taking into account the needs of shooting in everyday light scenes and dark light scenes, and offering textured image effects with a clear sense of hierarchy and rich details of light and dark.

In addition, the SC5000CS, in Summing mode, has a single pixel size of 1.404μm, which delivers high quality images at a high frame rate of 4K 60fps for the mobile phone camera.

PDAF Technology for Sharper Capture Images

The SC5000CS adopts Steamboat's Sparse PDAF technology to accurately focus through partial pixel phase detection, bringing fast and clear images to the mobile phone camera, helping users easily capture the beautiful moments of life, while significantly reducing the power consumption of the mobile phone CIS.

Lower Power Consumption for Longer Smartphone Life

The SC5000CS has excellent low-power performance, thanks to STEWART's advanced readout circuit technology design and process. Compared to products of the same specification in the industry, the SC5000CS consumes more than 10% less power in 50MP Full Size mode (15fps operating frame rate), and more than 20% less power in 12.5MP or 4K image output mode (60fps operating frame rate), which helps smartphone systems to reduce overall power consumption, and thus alleviate the users' anxiety about mobile phone battery life.

In addition, the SC5000CS supports the MIPI D-PHY interface protocol, which meets the needs of smartphone image data transmission at up to 2.5Gbps/lane. the SC5000CS can bring high-quality image capture to mainstream smartphone imaging systems, and promote the upgrading of mobile imaging.’
