EFM High Pressure All Stainless Steel Flow Sensors

Hygiene has always been a major concern for the food industry, and in order to provide consumers with safe and reliable products, manufacturers need to ensure that not only is the interior of their production facilities clean and the personal hygiene of their employees, but also that the environment in which the facilities and production take place is clean and tidy. This means that at the end of the day, or even at the end of each production batch, the equipment and areas must be hygienically cleaned. The external cleaning of the production system (sterilize out place, hereinafter referred to as SOP) prevents microbial deposits on the processing equipment and thus guarantees food safety. Effective external system cleaning significantly reduces production downtime, increases machine life and maintains production accuracy.

ifm's new high-pressure, all-stainless steel flow sensor, the SBZ224. can be easily adapted to cleaning equipment, resisting cleaning agents while enabling process documentation. The sensor can also be used on machine tools in high pressure environments to monitor fluid flow.

Ruggedness

The rugged housing is designed to withstand high-pressure applications up to 200 bar, and the stainless steel material is resistant to commonly used cleaning agents and other chemical environments.

● Outstanding performance

Quickly detects flow rate, flow and temperature values with a response time of up to 0.01 seconds. Even for short bursts of high-speed spraying during high-pressure cleaning, it records the media consumption precisely. The integrated temperature sensor also saves on hardware costs.

Easy installation

The length of the inlet and outlet pipes is not necessary. Since turbulence and bubbles do not affect the measurement, the sensor can be installed anywhere in the pipe.

The IO link makes it easy to observe and store process data and archive cleaning operations without signal conversion losses, and the diagnostic function of the IO link reduces maintenance costs.
