Omron's unique SRM1 Distributed I/O Controller breaks away from traditional PLC control with a completely revolutionary design.

The SRM1 Distributed I/O Controller puts all the processing power and control in a master unit and allows the designer to distribute up to 256 I/O points over a twisted pair network.

Designers can create a remote I/O network with up to 32 nodes at distances up to 500 metres away.

This reduces wiring costs, increases flexibility, lowers system costs and achieves optimum efficiency when I/O must be located away from the CPU.

-Twisted pair network allows easy addition of devices and reduces cabling costs

-High speed communication up to 750Kbps

The CompoBus/S network allows users to remotely centralise CPUs and distribute I/O over high-speed communication networks.

This provides the best solution for applications where I/O must be distributed over long distances and offers incredible flexibility and efficiency.

Many types of remote devices can be added to the CompoBus/S network, including Discreet or analogue I/O, sensor terminals, sensor amplifiers.

even Omron micro PLCs, creating wide-area control systems not possible with standard PLCs.

Communication

Serial Communications

Built-in serial port for direct connection to the CPU

-Direct connection to serial devices such as printers, modems, bar code readers or operator interfaces.

-Downloads programmes directly from a PC to the SRM1 serial port

-1:1 serial connection to other OMRON PLCs allows the CPU to seamlessly share data

Peripheral Communications

-Direct connection to Omron programming devices

-Direct connection to Omron Operator Interface Terminal

-Connects to additional RS-232C adapter or RS-422/485

-Connection of up to 32 nodes on a Composbus/S network

-Up to 128 inputs and 128 outputs

-Networked remote I/O topology allows adding new modules and reducing cable costs

-Communication speeds up to 750 kbps

-500 metre trunk length in long distance communication mode
