Within the DriveTech product family, ABB has introduced the enhanced NINVA™ TSP341-N non-invasive temperature sensor that
Provides safer, simpler temperature measurement for use in the chemical, oil and gas industries.
The new NINVA is the first SIL2 certified non-intrusive temperature sensor and is the safest non-intrusive temperature measurement sensor in the market.
ABB's innovative non-intrusive temperature sensor technology, which has been proven over the last few years, provides an alternative to traditional invasive temperature sensors.
It provides an alternative solution to traditional invasive protection sleeves and greatly simplifies temperature measurement.
NINVA™ utilizes the surface temperature of the pipe to measure the process temperature with the same accuracy and functionality as intrusive measurement devices.
It also avoids the hazards and life cycle costs associated with planning, installation and protection.
The NINVA TSP341-N is SIL2 certified and is based on the proven TTH300 temperature transmitter, with a range of new features based on customer feedback.
These include a unique split unit feature, improved vibration resistance, optional equipment for use up to 550°C (1022°F), and a new temperature transmitter with independent sensor calibration and calibration.
and simpler calibration and protection through an extractable sensor measurement insert with independent sensor calibration and zeroing.
Without sacrificing accuracy and functionality, NINVA? eliminates messy protection sleeve planning for small pipes with accurate clamping methods for pipe diameters from 40mm to 2500mm and less.
Dr. Guruprasad Sosale of ABB's Measurement and Profiling business unit said, “Customers are aggressively pushing the boundaries of the non-intrusive process measurement mall.
As the demand for sensing continues to grow, professionals in the chemical, oil and gas industries around the world are seeing the value of this technology to provide them with more detailed process information without having to stop the process or cut the pipe.
By turning a section of process piping into a temperature measurement point, NINVA™ provides plant operators with a simpler and safer way to measure process temperature without compromising utility - no downtime, no holes to cut, and greatly simplified engineering planning.”
The NINVA™ utilizes a clamp-on mounting method that is rugged and eliminates the hazards, viewing and handling costs involved in protecting welded device connections.
Because no holes are required in the pipe wall, NINVA? avoids potential leaks and reduces the number of trouble spots in the plant commissioning process.
NINVA? provides a more cost-effective measurement solution for even the simplest temperature measurement points in a plant, reducing overhead, handling, installation and commissioning costs by up to 75%.
