Pfaff Vacuum, one of the world's leading suppliers of vacuum technology, is expanding its HiLobe product portfolio with a new high pumping speed compact Roots pump. This product saves pumping time by about 20% and reduces maintenance and energy costs by more than 50% compared to conventional Roots pumps, resulting in more reliable, efficient and innovative applications for users with fast pumping requirements in a wide range of industrial vacuum applications, such as electron beam welding, vacuum ovens, freeze drying, locking chambers or leak detection systems.

The compact Roots pump with a new drive design and frequency converter offers a rated pumping speed range of up to 13.600 m3/h. On the one hand, the unique speed controller function enables the pump to meet the specific requirements of different customers. On the other hand, the powerful drive design allows the HiLobe?Roots pump to save approximately 20% of pumping time compared to conventional Roots pumps. Fast evacuation not only reduces costs, but also increases the efficiency of the production facility.
Compared to conventional roots pumps, HiLobe roots pumps reduce maintenance and energy costs by more than 50 per cent. This is due to the energy-efficient drive unit and the optimised rotor geometry of the pump. With a maximum integral leakage rate of 1 - 10-6 Pa m3/s, the excellent sealing of this Roots pump eliminates the need for dynamic sealing and requires maintenance only every four years, thus reducing maintenance costs.
In addition, control and communication are key factors in increasing the availability of the system, and the intelligent interface technology of the HiLobe Roots pumps allows the process to be well adjusted and monitored, thus increasing the foresight and efficiency of the work. By integrating ‘Condition Monitoring’, the user is able to obtain real-time information on the status of the vacuum system, thus enabling rational and predictive planning of maintenance measures, avoiding costly interruptions in production, and increasing equipment reliability and operational safety while prolonging Product life is extended while improving equipment reliability and operational safety.
