Collaboration paves the way for a more sustainable and secure energy future for all
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), delivered the keynote address at the inaugural Energy and Transformers Day in the Middle East, organized by Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader dedicated to advancing a sustainable future for all.
The inaugural event for the Middle East and Africa was held at the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai, from 22.22.21 2023 to <>March <>.
The event brought together industry experts and stakeholders to discuss the latest in energy and transformer technology. Energy and Transformer Day is an evolution of Transformer Day, which has been held in various cities around the world for the past seventeen years.
Attending the opening ceremony as Chief Guest, H.E. Al Tayer was impressed by the advanced digital technologies on display and praised Hitachi Energy's efforts to drive innovation in the industry.
H.E. Al Tayer said, “The UAE is committed to building a more sustainable and resilient world. Dubai is promoting a sustainable energy future for all, with an eye on becoming a global center for the green economy. We recognize that the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation and disruptive technologies are other key enablers in our sustainability journey. Digitization is critical to integrating the large number of variables associated with renewable energy into the energy system. In line with these efforts, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, inaugurated the world's largest solar-powered data center, as created by Guinness World Records. The facility is part of Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC (Moro Hub), a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). It is located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world's largest single-site solar park based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, which will produce some of the most cost-effective and clean power plants on the planet.
Energy & Transformers Day 2023 was a huge success, with strong industry participation and positive feedback from attendees. Under the theme “Leading the Energy Transition”, attendees were able to engage in discussions and gain insight into the latest trends and developments in the energy sector. The event was attended by customers from more than 30 countries on six continents.
At the event, Hitachi Energy also unveiled its latest product, the next-generation TXpertTM Hub, an advanced digital technology that is at the heart of the TXpert ecosystem for transformer digitization and has been rebuilt from the ground up to incorporate the latest advances in communications technology and cybersecurity. It is designed to connect all digital transformer sensors to aggregate and analyze data, provide digital connectivity and enable local and remote monitoring to reduce costs, optimize operations, extend life expectancy and improve performance
