The Bosch Rexroth electric cylinder (EMC) series is now available in a high-precision, easy-to-maintain, high-power EMC-HP version. Designed for heavy-duty applications up to 100 kN, its new power pack is robust, compact and easy to maintain. The planetary screw drive used is reliable and provides users with stable, continuous power even under harsh conditions. The new oil lubrication method and the optional direct water cooling of the screws contribute to this performance. As with the other members of the EMC family, a complete digital process from selection to ordering reduces engineering time.

The new EMC-HP is now available in 115. 130 and 160 (housing diameter) sizes with IP54 protection. It is suitable for strokes up to 1.500 mm and for a wide range of different heavy-duty applications from stamping, forming and riveting to tensioning, positioning and testing.

Each EMC-HP uses Bosch Rexroth's proven planetary screw assembly (PLSA), which meets extremely high standards in terms of control accuracy and dynamic performance. With a dynamic load capacity (Cdyn) of up to 189.5 kN, axial forces of up to 100 kN and speeds of up to 0.83 m/s, they enable fast and accurate heavy-duty movements even during complex motions, with energy-saving and efficient processes.

The robust and easy-to-maintain design features of the planetary screw assembly allow for extended lubrication intervals. In addition, when it is necessary to replace seals, this can be done in just a few steps. Overall, this easy-to-maintain linear motion technology from Bosch Rexroth will contribute to increased productivity and reduced total costs.

The engineering process is also made easy: with the LinSelect electronic tool, the selection process is simple and easy to follow, after which drives, for example, can be configured online, so that the EMC customised solution can be finalised and ready for ordering in a matter of minutes. Diverse options such as lengths and connection methods also extend the range of applications.

With compact dimensions, a lightweight aluminium housing and a single-cable solution that can be adapted to most drives, the integration of the EMC-HP into the machine tool can be carried out easily and quickly on site.
