igus Adds New Hose Fittings to E4Q Series Drag Chains

New Hose Clamps and Special Outer Links Ensure Quick and Easy Attachment of Bellows and Hoses

Safe and effective guidance of hoses, bellows and cables in drag chains is a major challenge for many industrial applications.

To deal with this problem, igus has now added new accessories to its E4Q series of drag chains: special side parts for parallel guiding of hoses and a new type of hose clamp.

With these accessories, bellows and hoses can be installed simply and safely.

The outer side links with slots make it easier to retrofit the PMA bracket, while the hose clamps ensure that the hose is held securely in place.

With igus' special outer links and new hose clamps, users can safely guide PMA hoses and bellows parallel to the drag chain.

The E4Q series of drag chains from igus is the drag chain of choice for safely guiding cables in overhead and long travel applications.

The bionic design of this series of drag chains reduces weight, while the crossbar with locking carabiners makes installation of the drag chains very simple and free of stuff.

For parallel guidance of PMA hoses and drag chains, igus has added hose-specific outer links to the E4Q series of drag chains.

These links have been tested and proven in the E4.1 specification series and now they can also be used in the E4Q drag chains.

The links have a slot into which the PMA bracket can be easily stabbed, which ensures that the PMA bellows can be fitted quickly and easily.

Because the brackets are available in sizes ranging from 17mm to 48mm, these TUB links are suitable for all hose diameters.

New hose clamps for diameters up to 60mm

In addition, igus has introduced the new SHM.60 hose clamps. Like the PMA brackets, they are articulated on the outer links.

The clamps can be used to guide corrugated pipes or hoses with a diameter of up to 60 mm, e.g. for extraction systems in the carpentry industry.

The hoses can be easily installed using juggling stickers or one or two cable ties.

Phillip Hagedorn, product manager for drag chains at igus, explains, “Together with this, we are working on further developments for the E4Q, such as new expansion links, which enable customers to extend their existing drag chains to be able to guide a large number of cables in a single drag chain.”
