ADI introduces the DS28E30 1-Wire ECDSA Security Authenticator, a cost-effective solution that

for detecting and protecting products against counterfeiting or misuse.

The device passes a fixed-function cryptographic toolkit based on the industry-standard FIPS 186 Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA),

secure storage of key and application data, and a single-contact 1-Wire interface that makes integration into existing or new designs as simple and easy as possible.

The DS28E30 offers a variety of security features that enable limited-life management of the use of tools, sensors and other peripherals.

These include a monotonic, non-resettable decrement counter; and an optional, ECDSA-protected 1Kb general-purpose EEPROM.
