M12 circular connectors are essential components in automation technology. They are indispensable today for connecting sensors, actuators and other field components for signal and data transmission as well as for supplying power to the devices. m12 connectors are suitable for a wide range of industrial networks such as CAN, Profibus, Profinet and so on, depending on the coding options.

Thanks to standardization, the M12 connecting solution is compatible with a wide range of manufacturers: DIN EN 61076-2 defines the requirements for the geometrical appearance of the product, the electrical characteristics, the specifications for the relevant application of the product, and the prescribed test requirements. For example, DIN EN 61076-2-101 defines the M12 series of A to D codes for signal transmission, fieldbus and industrial Ethernet, respectively. DIN EN 61076-2-109 defines the mandatory performance requirements for the industrial X code ---- data transmission must be up to 10 Gbit/s. DIN EN IEC 61076-2-111 defines the S, T, K and L codes for these M12s. K and L codes for these M12 power connectors.

The standardization makes the replacement of M12 components easy and makes the user independent of individual suppliers. And (by far the most important aspect) helps to prevent supply bottlenecks.
