Hardware

The hardware of Baumer AX smart camera adopts the integrated solution of GPU and ASIC, equipped with mainstream NVIDIA Jetson platform, and the customised ASIC chip assists the high-performance GPU for deep learning acceleration. Its core (DLA) is designed for AI and can achieve frame rates of up to 300 fps in AI-based object classification applications, with high frame rates and classification rates helping to ensure safer collaboration between fast-running robots and operators.

The camera's exterior also incorporates a rugged, industrial-grade, thermally-optimised design, multiple interfaces and the latest Sony CMOS sensor technology to achieve high image quality for today's and tomorrow's needs.

    

Software

The software supports development kits (SDKs) such as TensorFlow and Caffe, as well as support for AI models trained specifically for certain application scenarios, such as performing tasks such as bulk material monitoring or object location recognition in image processing applications.

With Linux, the camera also offers the freedom to choose the programming language according to the application, the flexibility to use image processing libraries or application programming interfaces (APIs) from third-party vendors, and to use custom algorithms in a protected manner.

Programming in Python or openCV languages is supported, as well as standard industrial controllers and easy and flexible application programming.
