TDC 2000. TDC 3000 and TPS customers can continue to

improve their systems by adding the Experion Server and Station

to the Local Control Network (LCN). The TPS points are

automatically discovered and become part of the unified Experion

database. This gives you the ability to unify your operations and

take advantage of many business productivity enhancements:

Procedural Operations

Upgrading to Experion does not require the capital investment for

replacing hardware such as controllers and I/O modules unless

there is a customer-driven business case. Experion functionality,

such as innovative alarming and trending capabilities, is available

while you continue to support your Native Window or GUS

displays in a fully integrated operator environment.

Increase Operator Effectiveness

Experion enables innovative features that improve the

effectiveness of operators, such as intuitive alarm management,

analysis tools and flexible trending. In a multi-phase upgrade, the

first step is typically to upgrade the operator stations to take

advantage of these benefits.

Upgrading TDC 3000 stations to the LCN-connected Experion

Station offers a common Experion HMI connected to the existing

LCN, reducing training and maintenance by keeping existing

graphics, network, controllers and I/O in place. It provides direct

access to the LCN with read/write data access and integrated

alarm and events. Experion establishes logical console functions

across all stations so operators can see other Experion Stations.

With Experion’s ability to display the TDC 3000 Native Window,

GUS displays and Experion displays from one station, no graphic

translation is required. When the need arises, Experion provides

the opportunity to create new html-based graphics that can

strategically help improve control room safety and efficiency.

Experion supports building or incorporating translated graphics

that comply with the Abnormal Situation Management

Consortium’s guidelines for ergonomic displays.
