Allen-Bradley 1785-L30B is an Allen-Bradley PLC5 controller: The Allen-Bradley 1785-L30B is an Allen-Bradley PLC5 controller. The controller has 32K words of user memory and supports 1024 (any mix) or 1024 inputs + 1024 outputs (complementary). It has embedded communication ports such as two (2) DH+/Remote I/O (adapters or scanners) and one (1) serial port that can be configured for RS-232 and 423 and RS-422A standards.

The contents of the user memory are erased only when power is lost and the battery is depleted.

The 1785-L30B has two built-in ports such as Channel 1A and Channel 1B. These ports can be configured as Remote I/O Scanners, Remote I/O Adapters, and DH+ communication interfaces. In addition, the 1785-L30B controller provides a 25-pin connector serial port interface. The serial port supports the RS232C standard and can be configured for system protocols such as ASCII and DF1. full-duplex and half-duplex master protocols, and half-duplex slave protocols. An 8-pin miniature DIN connector labelled Channel 1A is also available and also supports DH+ connectivity.

The 1785-L30B has several indicator lights on the front panel for easy interaction with the user. These indicators are labelled BATT and are used to show battery status. The indicator labelled PROC indicates the status of the controller. the FORCE indicator is used to show whether or not the I/O force is enabled. the COMM indicator is connected to channel 0 and is used to report communication activity, while channels 1A and 1B both have dedicated status indicators.

The controller has a three-position pushbutton switch to set the controller mode.
